House of Deej
October 6, 2008
Hola
I am alive.
An odd sign seemed to have come from above while I was re-evaluating a few things in my life. There I was contemplating changes and if I should make them. I was kicking myself for believing mistakes can be forgiven and forgotten. I was debating what path to take and then it happened.
Eureeka!
Mon hubby cancelled one credit card to get a lower rate on another. He didn't realize our internet service was being paid for on the one he cancelled and bingo bango - no more internet was happening in the House of Deej.
It took over a week for me to even realize it was gone.
If anyone mentioned a year or even a few months ago that I'd be able to survive without the net on a daily basis, I'd have told them they were delusional. Now, it's absolutely true.
I have it here at work, but I tend to only use it for grading and checking the news. Otherwise, I'm just not online now.
Soon, it will be back. I'm not in any great rush to get it, but I will need it if I am going to do work from home. Working from home is totally a huge part of my life. I am putting in 50+ hours a week this year.
I really love the new program I am creating. Oddly, I was previously looking at leaving this place to work with an Upward Bound Program in a different state. It was something I never saw myself doing, but it was looking like a plunge into taking my life in a different direction and grabbing the golden ring - I thought figuratively and realistically. Ooops - dorkly moi.
Instead, I have jumped with both feet into something different while still teaching regular mainstream classes. I love the challenge and the change. The other path would have challenged me as well, but this is a good thing and I think it's looking to be successful so far.
I will be back eventually.
For now - just know you are in my thoughts. Even now, I still pause and think to myself "oh man, I should blog about that". I guess that blogging habits are easily ingrained. You people rock.
Peace

Glad you posted. I was just pondering on your absence yesterday. Enjoy working on your program and work with gusto as you do with everything in your life. Your presence is missed - but knowing you are okay is good news. Thinking of you.

I've not been around much either due to new man in my life who lives in the country and I hardly seem to be at home recently! I'm glad you're enjoying your new program at work - it sounds rewarding!
