Opinions Needed!

Today was a shop shop shop day. I do so love hitting the stores, but this time we were utterly and completely goal oriented. We had to find a dress for Babycub to wear as junior bridesmaid in our oldest son's wedding, and we looked for a dress for me to wear as well.

Babycub is happily all squared away with a pretty little teal number that has her feeling like a million bucks. She's tickled teal, and cannot wait to show it off on the big day.

As for me, I am torn. I found a couple dresses at David's Bridal that I liked. I thought I'd chase down my luverly blogger buds and see which you like as well.

I am sorry, but you'll have to go to the links to help me out.
*bats eyes* Puleeze do this!!!!

This was the one that caught my eye first. The girls rolled their eyes in dismay when they saw it on the hanger, but it was also on a display model and they changed their mind. It's really a cutie! I like it in both of the colors it comes in.

On the other hand, this one is pretty slick too. I think I like it in black. Maybe that's not the best color to choose for a wedding, but it's just kind of stunning in that color. If not, there are other colors I really like as well.

Please vote on them. Let me know which one you like best!

Peace

ah well the links work in here! lol

Hmmm, go with the first one I say, and get the second one for some other occasion. the first one is really classy, and second is super shmexylicious.

I love the first one, the second one looks too much like a partay dress.

I like the first dress in the silver. I think it looks very classy. Both are stunning. You have a hard choice to make!

The first is the more elegant, but there's nothing wrong with smexyness at a wedding and, on the right person, the second could look very elegent too.

It would help to have a view of the person who's gonna be wearing it...

I personally like the second one but not too sure about black for a wedding. What colors are being used for the wedding? The second one comes in a lot of different colors. It truely is my favorite.

ok, regarding the first link - if you want to look like Charlotte from sex in the city, be my guest ;-) ...... but i never liked what she wore anyway.

second dress looks more classically stylish without being dross like the first one. I like the second one in the Lapis (purple to you and me) but some people can't carry that colour off............. HOWEVER it all depends on make up and accessories. You could ruin the second dress by too much jewellry. The first one coould be schivitzed all over and no-one would notice, the second has a (relatively)
understated elegance to it.

I agree, the second one is more fitting for the mother of the groom. It's classy, but doesn't upstage the bride.

The first one I can see for a dinner party, or an evening out on the town. Both are beautiful though!

Not sure about black though, unless that is going to be the theme of the wedding.

I vote #2. The first one looks a bit... I dunno... 'over the top' to me.

I like the second one best for the Mother also, I love both of the blue colors...capri is my favorite!! I also like the blue color on the first one.:)

To judge properly, we'd probably need to see you in them and to know what your relationship is like with the bride and her family. If you're trying to show them up, definitely go with the first one because it's what my nana used to call a scene-stealer.

I LOVE the second one. And didn't you know black is acceptable in todays weddings...so I've read. I actually like the color this model is wearing. Black is awesome, and more of something you could wear at other occasions. Yeah, I do love the second one =) I want it !! lol !

And the second looks good in all the colors =)

I like the second one, too, but I'm also not sure about black at a wedding. Maybe the blue or the green, depending on the wedding's color theme.

Hard to judge when we have nothing else to go on - ie YOU! LOL...But my personal choice would be the second dress in either the Capri or Truffle as the black is a little too sexy for mother of the groom. Good choices both of them! Have fun choosing!

T and I vote for the second dress. But not in Black for this occasion. Go with Lapis?

Second dress, hands down, is the best choice. I preferred the colors, Lapis, Marine & Fern, out of the options available, but then you'd probably want to settle with a hue that compliments your skin tone. The first dress is gorgeous, yes, but I think a tad "over the top". Good luck & don't forget to show us a pic of you in the final choice! BTW, did you notice there's a "Win This Dress" button on that page? :D

You stinkers, I have to tell you, my choice has always leaned toward the first one. There's such a sense of elegance about that dress. It makes me feel like Jackie Kennedy! LOL

I still haven't made up my mind and I still haven't stopped looking.

I do love all the input and opinions. Thanks so much. It truly has helped to have all of you putting in your two cents.

I do know that I'll skip the idea of black for the dress. I have a thing for sweet little black numbers, but you're right - it's probably not appropriate for the occasion. I'd hate for the kids to think I'm in mourning over their nuptuals!

i like the color choices for the first. i was going to use the exact same description for it that you did - jackie kennedy - which is a good thing. i find it elegeant.

however, i like the style of the second one better, so i vote for that one.

Stacey - I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that. It just hit me - especially when I saw it in the shop. However, I would never wear a pillbox hat! Egads!

It's funny, because when Etainne showed me the dresses, my first reply was "Jackie O" and "Sophia Loren"

Go ahead, DARE to be Sophia! Not that I think you couldn't pull off a convincing Jackie O, but you have the fire necessary to be a Sophia, which Jackie would never have managed. Both sophisticated, but it's a choice between 2D and 3D, and let's face it, you would not be happy even pretending for a day to be 2D.

*adds thundering applause to Treasa's comment*

Yeah! What she said!!!! :D

Aw hell, just buy both dresses & wear one to the rehearsal dinner & the other to the wedding! ;)

They are both very pretty, I am sure you will look fabulous in whatever you choose. Personally I love the second one but it might be a little too cleavage-y for the mother of the groom. LV has the right idea though, buy them both and wear one to the rehearsal. Will we get to see you in the final decision?? :)
